System Requirements

The following system requirements must be met in order to use the I-Surf applications.

• IBM-compatible PC, CPU at least Pentium with 166 MHz, 32 MB RAM
• One free 16-Bit ISA bus slot
• Operating System: Win 95, Win 98 or Win NT 4.0 (workstation or server version)
• At least 25 MB to 70 MB (full installation) of free disk space (without online access software)
• One free interrupt
• Two consecutive free I/O addresses
• CD-ROM drive
• Win 95, Win 98 or Win NT 4.0 CD (the files may be stored on your hard disk. Search for "*.cab" and write down the path where the files are located)
• Windows-compatible sound card (for the answering machine)
• Basic Rate Interface for ISDN (S0 interface with DSS1 protocol)

Characteristics

I-Surf is a professional software package that integrates modern ISDN based communication applications into your PC.

With I-Surf you can:

• surf on the Internet for hours
• exchange faxes with other conventional fax machines
• be called at any time: the integrated answering machine stores all incoming calls which can be played on your soundcard
• transfer files (e.g. documents) from one PC to another using the Euro File Transfer standard. Channel bundling and data compression increase the speed up to more than 128 kbits per second
• access mailboxes with the integrated analog and digital modems
• reduce travel costs if you install the data conferencing software Microsoft Netmeeting (Application Sharing, White Board, Chat, File Transfer). Audio and Video Conferencing is possible using a separate sound card, or a video card and camera (H.323) respectively.
• access Online Services such as AOL, CompuServe and T-Online: The most recent versions are stored on the CD. As a special service, a software application is provided which allows you to access the Internet Provider germany.net with a few mouse clicks. With germany.net you can surf without any charge (except the costs for the connection).
• read the Online Documentation at any time.
• configure your software individually. The Line Manager offers several possibilities to adapt the software to your specific environment (e.g. behind PBX) which eases the handling of the applications.
• download patches, updates, documentations, etc. from a special support server by using the support module.
• execute diagnostic software to identify installation problems
